Dallas Drafts Matt Johnson

Matt Johnson Safety Eastern Washington
The Cowboys have used there second fourth round pick to draft safety Matt Johnson out of Eastern Washington University. Johnson has been a starter for four years with EWU. In his four years at EWU, he recorded 17 interceptions (one shy of the school record) with 341 tackles. 6 forced fumbles and 5 fumble recoveries rounds out his four years at EWU.

Johnson gives Dallas a good amount of experience and can come in a contribute right away on special teams. This gives Dallas four picks of defensive players for Rob Ryan's defense. Its clear that Dallas really wants to help Tony Romo out by getting him the ball back. Look for Dallas to keep up that philosophy as well as address a few needs on the offensive end with there last 3 picks in this draft.
