Post Draft for the Cowboys: Undrafted Free Agents

The Dallas Cowboys wrapped up the 2012 draft by drafting Tight End James Hanna in the 6th round and Linebacker Caleb McCord in the 7th round. Dallas did what they needed to do in regards to drafting their needs. Dallas did exactly what they were expected to do, give Rob Ryan the players that he needs to create a dominant defense. The Cowboys defense (after free agency and the draft) have become considerably better and have the chance to compete for the best defense in the league.

Consistent play at the linebacker position was an issue, so the Cowboys went and put Dan Connor alongside breakout star Sean Lee. The Cowboys now have 1 pro bowler in Mike Jenkins and two potential pro bowlers in Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne. Pass rush from the opposite side of Ware has been an issue, so the Cowboys drafted Kyle Wilber and Tyrone Carter to help out with third down pressure. Don’t forget Victor Butler whose has look impressive every time he has stepped on the field for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys will now be looking to sign undrafted free agents. The Cowboys have done their job finding talent with the undrafted players. Tony Romo and Miles Austin are just the few who have turned into starters in the NFL. Keep an eye out for who the Cowboys will sign in the next couple days; Look to see defense and offensive line addressed in that period.
